Dear Ask A Man,
How do you initiate a new sexual position / adventure to your partner? Do you talk about it, just make the move or... not?

Dear
Sue,
Talk about it. There is nothing worse than trying something new and freaking your partner out and ruining the moment. I feel that discussing it with your partner will not only add some spice to the relationship, but will help you avoid any embarrassing situations that could arise (no pun intended).

Hi,
Make the move. Take command and just do it. Even that can be exciting.

Hi NYC.,
Just make the move, baby! You know if it is going to go over well within about 5 seconds and can beat a hasty retreat if needs be! Nothing pops the passion balloon more than "discussing it in advance". How pedantic! If you have a compelling need to "process and discuss" things, do it about vacation plans or remodeling projects. Guys like that sort of thing. There is a definite goal and a permanent product involved.
For a lot of guys, discussing the nuances of relationships, feelings and sexual fantasies is uncomfortable as there is no obvious "ending" to the conversation. Guys like beginnings and endings! (it's the middle part where we get all quiet and are a constant source of frustration for the female gender....;-)

Hi,
The easiest way is to talk about it. This gives her time to think about it and possibly get turned on by the suggestion. Just going for it could possibly lead to an uncomfortable situation for one or both of you.

Hello,
Playfully, so if he freaks out you can quickly move to something else.
