I've never been in such a relationship, but don't find it intimidating. Live and let live is a good motto. As for a threesome, it not only seems sort of crowded, but the various people that I have known that have tried this have never had good luck with it in the long run. Two's company, three's a crowd! It's hard enough for two people to see eye to eye in a relationship. Adding a third seems to be just asking for geometrically expanding emotional complexities!
