Nothing feels better than a long luxurious soak in the tub, or a hot shower after a difficult day. Nothing except, maybe, well, sex. Combining the stress-relieving properties of sex and water together is the closest we can come to domestic nirvana. With a few tips to help you along, we want to help you celebrate the pleasure-promising event that is bathroom sex.

First things first: even though you may end up with water on the floor, towels hanging from the medicine chest and candle wax on the tub, it is important to start your activities with a clean bathroom. Yes, I know you like to be spontaneous, but trust me on this, you will not have a very good time getting your freak on in a dirty bathroom. So give it a thorough clean once a week and just before your night of soapy splashy splendor-in-the-glass-doored shower, give it a quick once over to make sure there are no unsightlies: a forgotten sock, a stray pubic hair, a smear of lipstick. You’ll be better able to focus on the task at hand without thinking about the fact that this is a room normally reserved for non-sexual activity.

It’s nice to try and transform the bathroom space a bit to get you in the mood. If taking a bath, candles are nice; make the flame won’t be close enough to burn you accidentally. Have nice clean towels ready and maybe some fancy products to use (patchouli shampoo? edible honey dust and feather? Or go to www.lush,com and check out the wonderful bathing products). If you want to surprise your man by coaxing him into the bath or shower, try to arrange some foreplay time first. He’ll be more willing (and eager!) if he’s turned on beforehand. Get him hot and then excuse yourself for a moment. Run the bath (put bubble bath or salts in if that’s your plan), or get the shower going and adjust to the perfect temperature. Then you can go back and keep playing for a minute or two. You can start tearing his clothes off (or slowly remove them with your teeth), or lead him by the hand and have him disrobe as he will.

Slip into the water. Don’t start the sex right away; let yourselves enjoy this experience. Wash him with sensual strokes, and he’ll probably want to do the same to you (or you can do this simultaneously). Natural sponges are great for this, they’re soft and shaped to fit the hand. If you want to start getting nasty, be sure to rinse the soap from your privates first! Soap in the vagina can lead to infections, and at the very least doesn’t tend to taste good.

There are a few different sex positions you can try in the shower or tub. Just remember to be careful so you don’t slip and fall, this can hapen very quickly.

Shower:
Let him take you from behind by bending you over slightly while standing. Or your man could always enter you from the front while you’re standing. Wrap your leg around him, or maybe he can hold you up while you’re straddling him. Make sure the shower nozzle is aimed at you so you can enjoy the sensuous stream of water flowing over you.You can also kneel and go down on him, he can kneel and perform oral on you; use that shower-massage if you can, or angle the shower head to add another level of sensation.

Tub:
Intercourse under water doesn’t tend to work; but if you let the water level lower a bit, you might be able to do a face-to-face style position. Modern tubs are not always big enough to allow both people to fit comfortably, so this means sex is an even bigger challenge. But it can work if you give it some time to find the right method. Your man can lie back and you can ride him, just make sure your knees don’t hit the sides of the tub too hard.

Angling your body so your man can go down on you tends to work nicely in the tub. Or, have him stand over you while you kneel and suck; either of you can also hold a hand-held shower massage head and use it while the other is noshing, this can enhance your pleasure in unbelievable ways! Or just let him use the handheld nozzle on you by itself; this is better than any vibrator when you find the right angle and pressure.

Other fixtures:
You can have sex elsewhere in the bathroom, too, if you have the space. If it doesn’t remind you too much of a drunken encounter in a restaurant restroom, have him sit on the toilet lid while you sit on him. Or you can sit on the edge of the sink and he can enter you, if the angle and height are right for this. You can also stand and look in the mirror as he caresses, fondles, kisses or enters you from behind. For some couples seeing each other in the mirror is a great turn-on; add to this the strange newness of doing it in the bathroom, and standing up, and you might find a new kinky practice you want to add to your repertoire!
