General Background:

I am a born and raised "Navy Brat" and spent my entire childhood moving from base to base around the globe.  My dad, now retired, was a naval officer on big ships, so we had to move around frequently based on where the "hot spots" were at any given moment. It was hard changing friends as we moved around, but now I can see that all of the really diverse cultural experiences I had really were a major blessing as an adult.  After graduating high school, I went to a small private college in Maine and got my degree in physical therapy, the career I enjoy practicing to this day.

What I Look For In A Woman:

Call me old fashioned, but I really like women that have traditional values and my hope is to someday meet the right gal, get married, settle down and have a few kids.

Hobbies:

The hobby I picked up since moving to Maine is fly fishing.  I find it's a great combination of art and science.  It starts with carefully crafting the lures, and then spending glorious days in the wilderness, both enjoying the beauty of nature, and trying to out-smart those crafty rainbow trout. And, yes, being a nice guy, I do "catch and release" <smile>.


Favorite Experience:

I guess my most memorable experience was during summer vacation before my last year of college when an old girlfriend of mine and I hiked the Appalachian Trail, starting on Mt. Katahdin near Millinocket, Maine, and ending up in Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania (at which point it was just getting too hot to go any further south, so we took a bus home!).  Aside from a lot of hot romance in sleeping bags under the stars, we had a fantastic variety of experiences ranging from great hiking and fishing in remote forests and mountains, to visiting little tiny rural towns and seeing that great little slice of Americana.
