Sometime in the 1960s a book came out announcing women had “erogenous zones”: non-genital body parts that could cause intense sexual excitement when stimulated. Soon after, the joke became: “Yeah, women have all these erogenous zones but men still only have one!”

Not true, ladies. Men have just as many or more erogenous zones than we do. However, they may not be as open to having them paid special attention to as we are…I mean, we don’t exactly have to get our men revved up with foreplay, do we? They’re usually ready quicker than we are. And some men might feel slightly uncomfortable with these zones being stimulated; for example, some men might think it’s weird to have their nipples sucked, thinking that is something just for women.

Everyone is different, and will respond differently to different sites of stimulation and different methods. So be sensitive to whether your man really just doesn’t like having you lick his feet, or maybe he has just not experienced your licking them in a certain way…
Don’t experiment with these all at once! Expand your sexual repertoire by exploring these areas and trying different techniques of stimulation. Some men like harder stimulation (with nails or teeth), some like it more gentle (with the fingertips); and sometimes it depends on the area and how many nerve endings are there! So start exploring his body and you may be surprised at how many ways (and places!) there are to turn him on…

His Neck
We're not talking hickies here. Your man might like having his neck sucked but he might also resent having to wear a turtleneck for the next few days. Light nibbling is always good to start with, and some men like to have slightly harder stimulation with the teeth, chewing on the back of the neck for example. Kissing various parts of his neck may drive him wild, find th e spot that makes him moan. Some men also have a very “ticklish” (but in a sexual, not giggly, way) spot on the back of their necks, which you might find by experimenting while giving an “innocent” back rub.

His Ears
The ears are very sensitive to touch. As with the neck, start lightly. Some men like to have you lick their ears but make sure your lips and tongue are moist. Not wet—slobber is not sexy. Nibble on his ear lobes, tugging them gently with your teeth. You can also gently stimulate the ears with your finger tips, Breathing into his ears softly, moaning softly into his ears, is usually a real turn-on for men, as is blowing very gently. More is not better in this case, blowing hard or speaking loudly can actually injure his ear drum!

His Lips
If your man is not a good kisser, it is never too late to teach him. There is a reason why kissing is the most prominent sexual “move” at the start of a courtship—because it is so extremely sensual! The mouth has thousands of nerve endings and is one of our most sensuous zones. If you are a good kisser you may well be able to turn him on with just a bit of kissing. When we are “making out” our minds start to wander towards what will be happening next, so kissing is a good preview of sex…oral and otherwise. Nibble or chew lightly on his lips, expel your breath into his mouth, maybe share sips of wine, whisper softly while you are kissing him, all these things make kissing more exciting. Use your tongue skillfully- don’t just stick it in there, let it explore or stimulate him. Take hold of his tongue with your lips and mouth and suck at it gently. Kissing works best with a slightly moist, not wet, mouth so try not to let things get too mushy.

His Face
Women usually love it when men touch their faces so don’t be surprised if your man likes this too. Caress his chin or beard, trace his jawline as if admiring it, nibble the tip of his nose, flutter your eyelashes on his cheeks for a “butterfly kiss,” or gently kiss his closed eyelids. Touching or kissing the face in this way can be very intimate and loving.

His Scalp
The scalp has literally millions of nerve endings and blood vessels. Gently massage it with your fingertips, being careful to use your nails only lightly if at all. You can do this in the shower or bath, too by offering to shampoo his hair for him and then giving a nice slow massage as you do.

His Chest
You probably already stroke and kiss your man’s chest while making love. If he is muscular or well-toned, let your hands linger and admire it (much as he admires your breasts). If he is unused to nipple play, go slow at first and be very gentle: some men’s nipples are very sensitive or they may feel weird at first. If he responds well to sucking ad licking you can try to gently squeeze them with your teeth. If he says “harder!” you know he’s going to like this—but if he yelps or squirms, slow down and check in with him (whisper, “too much?”) and respond accordingly.

His Inner Thighs
A very sensitive area on your man! We sometimes forget to focus here because we are usually on our way to the penis and just “passing through.” Rub them, caress them, trace them with your fingernails lightly, kiss them, suck on them, let your hair trail over them, etc. Your man might absolutely love this!

His Back
Every man loves a good back rub or massage. But the back can also be the site of some wonderfully sensual stimulation. Some men have very sensitive areas on the sides of their lower backs, and if you caress these with your fingernails or chew on them lightly they will go positively bananas! Spend some time with your man’s back at he beginning of your lovemaking session to really turn him on. But be careful as too much or the wrong kind of stimulation can just cause discomfort or a ticklish sensation. The more you explore your man’s body during foreplay and lovemaking, the more you’ll learn about exactly what he likes!
