Even those of us who don't think we have a clothes fixation, usually give some thought to what we wear when we go out into the world. Let's face it, even the most naturally beautiful woman looks better when she radiates her own personal style from head to toe. Style is hard to define–some people equate it with the latest fashion trends, some think it is purely personal and individual. Of course, these days we often look to movie stars and other celebrities for fashion trends–so I have found it really interesting that many of them like to wear vintage or other one-of-a-kind items of clothing, pulling together unique looks. Think about it: it's safe to wear what you've seen on the mannequin at the store, but chances are good there's a hundred other women out there (or more!) Wearing the same thing. A little creativity goes along way–so does understanding what looks good on YOU. Your coloring, your shape, your lifestyle, even your mood at the moment--all these factors should inform your clothing choices.

This fun quiz may help you gain some understanding of your sense of style. It's another of our goddess quizzes. Hey, wait–didn't the goddesses all wear togas? If you have mostly "A" answers:
You are like ATHENA: Greek goddess of wisdom. You are confident in your look and select clothing to flatter your body that is suitable for your work and social life. You might consider being a bit more adventurous. Shop the sale racks to get an occasional fashionable piece, and experiment with new colors you don't usually wear that flatter your skin tone–hold it up to your face in the mirror to see if the color makes your skin and eyes and hair "pop"–try turquoise, rose, lavender, pale green, lemon yellow, peach, orange, electric blue–you never know what will look good! Change your hairstyle occasionally, and get a cut that allows you some versatility, like long layers or a blunt just-below-chin-length cut.

If you have mostly "B" answers:
You are like APHRODITE: Greek goddess of love, sex and beauty. You have fun with clothes and like to look sexy and alluring. You also follow fashion trends and consider yourself well-informed on fashion. But some people find a sexy look at the workplace off-putitng or confrontational. You might want to consider toning down your daytime look a bit. Make sure your makeup colors are not too dark or bright for day–the new look is paler lips, smoky eyes, not as much glitter or lip gloss! Next time you shop, try to find some classic pieces that make you look great–a well-cut jacket, some versatile medium-heeled black boots, an ivory satin blouse (which can look sexy and classy). Wear your hair up for a change. Save the sexpot looks for clubbing!

If you have mostly "C" answers:
You are like ARTEMIS: Greek goddess of nature, solitude and the moon. You have a well-developed sense of your own style and what looks good on you. You have some favorite colors that you tend to wear a lot of, and an appreciation for well-made vintage designs. You might consider a more formal look occasionally, like a tailored black cocktail dress for evening, or a well-fitting suit for day. You also tend to hold back from wearing anything too "racy" but if it looks good, wear it! Dressing somewhat against your established style is a great way to show people another side of your many-faceted personality. So go for that leather bustier!

If you have mostly "D" answers:
You are like DEMETER: Roman goddess of the earth and agriculture. You are fairly down to earth, and to you, clothes are not something to have fun with, but to wear according to the situation. Because of this attitude, you are usually very polished and well-dressed, but your casual fashion sense errs on the wide of caution, and, well, might be a bit dull. You might consider livening up your wardrobe a bit. No one is suggesting you suddenly start wearing stiletto heels and vinyl dresses, but a bit of effort can give you a softer, sexier look when it is called for. Start with color–if you're not sure which ones are flattering, take a friend shopping with you. Jeans are fine for a weekend date–but pair them with something sexy and striking: a silk tank top in a standout color, a vintage cashmere sweater, a sequined vest, a tuxedo shirt. Slowly adopt a signature piece or two and start wearing them to establish a sense of style: a leather jacket, a pair of red jeans, a colorful scarf. Let your polished sense of style stand out with a bit of flair!

If you have mostly "E" answers:
You are like the MUSES: Greek goddesses of creative inspiration. Your style is quirky and artistic and unique. You love clothes and shopping and putting new looks together. You might consider trying to develop a look that is really you, instead of trying so hard to look different from everyone else. Start by going through that overflowing closet of yours and getting rid of things you no longer wear. Give them to friends or a charity shop, so you know they'll have a good home. You'll probably find yourself hanging onto your best-loved vintage pieces and the items that are most flattering on you. Nothing wrong with wearing the same jacket almost for a week, or even a season! It will establish a strong sense of style, depending what you wear it with. Or maybe you want to create a set of looks focused on long skirts, boots and tailored tops. Perhaps you want to try a particular color palette for a while: earthy greens and browns, or cool blues and pinks and violets. Try for some consistency. You want people to recognize your style, but you have to give them something to remember–they can't do that if you are a chameleon who shifts colors every day.
