Dear Amy,

I'm 42 and having trouble finding a man. I don't know where to look anymore. I'm sick of the bar scene; I seem to be a bum magnate. I can't afford to spend the money to go to bars anyway, I'm a single parent and money's always tight. Where do the nice guys hang out and how do I go about meeting them? I'm tired of married men trying to pick me up at work or at bars for a fling.

Lonely,
In TN

Amy Says!
Hello Lonely in TN,

I know exactly what you mean. In this day and age it is almost impossible to meet a decent guy. Forget the bars, they are just a "Meat Market". I have found that there are great guys closer to us than we think. Usually they are friends that we never considered or co-workers or just someone we see on a daily basis, but never took the time to find out what he is all about. There are, unfortunately, no perfect guys out there; you know, great body, great job, great sense of humor and ready for a commitment. Don't torture yourself looking for these guys. Just concentrate on being open-minded and try finding a guy you can talk to and just be yourself around. You may be surprised at what you find. Hope this helps.

P.S If you need a place to start, try the supermarket on Saturday mornings. Definitely a good selection :)
